With 15 new players joining each season, the team has a constant influx of transient residents. Bureaucracy is a persistent headache, as the military-affiliated club is barred from signing foreign players or competing in Asian competitions. Winters are also brutally cold, with average temperatures dipping below freezing from December to February. But for the right person - someone unfazed by red tape and eager to experience a unique military-adjacent community - Sangju could be an intriguing, if challenging, place to live.
