With a population of just 100,316, Linxi is a sleepy, provincial backwater that offers little to entice the average expat. The singing sensation Duan Linxi may hail from this unremarkable town, but that's about the only claim to fame you'll find. Bureaucracy is a persistent headache, and there's little to do beyond the basics of daily life. Unless you're a die-hard fan of Duan's music, Linxi is best avoided by anyone seeking an exciting or fulfilling overseas experience.
