Ayer Itam is a suburb of George Town on Penang Island, located west of the city in central valleys. It is largely suburban and is home to Penang Hill and Kek Lok Si Temple. Central Air Itam centers on Jl Air Itam, Jl Pasar and Jl Balik Pulau, where markets and businesses bring heavy pedestrian activity and traffic congestion.
