There's no industrial base or major employer—most residents work their own land or catch fish for local sale. Tourism exists but is minimal and informal; you won't find corporate jobs here. If you need steady employment, you'll either freelance remotely or commute to Saint Ann's Bay, 30 minutes away by minibus.

Rent runs $200–400/month for a basic house; utilities add another $40–60. Roads are potholed and minibuses are the only transport—no taxis, no ride-sharing. Social life revolves around church, cricket, and community events; the expat community is essentially nonexistent. Weekends mean beach trips to nearby Runaway Bay or hiking. This suits remote workers seeking genuine rural immersion and low costs, not people needing jobs, nightlife, or modern amenities.
