Rohtak may seem like a modern city on the outskirts of Delhi, but the reality is less than glamorous. With a population of 374,292, it's the sixth largest city in Haryana, but the infrastructure struggles to keep up. The tax burden is heavy, and bureaucracy is a persistent headache, as the government has funneled development funds disproportionately into Rohtak. And while the climate is temperate, the extreme temperature swings - from below freezing to over 48°C - can be challenging. Overall, Rohtak offers little to attract anyone beyond those with strong local ties or a need to be near the capital region.
