Remote workers and digital nomads will find coworking infrastructure thin but improving — this is a city mid-transition, not yet a polished tech hub.

A one-bedroom in the city center runs around $250/month, which is genuinely low even by Indian standards. Auto-rickshaws and app-based cabs cover most ground cheaply, though traffic congestion is real and worsening. Healthcare has decent private hospital options — Rainbow and Manipal have facilities here — but specialist care often means a trip to Hyderabad. Telugu is the dominant language and English fluency outside business and educated circles is limited, so daily errands require patience or basic Telugu. Bureaucracy for visa extensions and residency registration follows India's standard slow-moving paper trail.

The food scene is legitimately good if you eat Telugu cuisine; Pesarattu and spicy curries are everywhere and cheap. A safety index of 68 is respectable for an Indian city. The expat community is small and mostly business-focused, not a social infrastructure built for long-term foreign residents. Weekends mean temple visits, river ghats, and day trips to Amaravati. This city suits location-independent earners who want low costs, don't need a large expat social scene, and can handle heat.
