And while the city's 2,500-year history is undeniably rich, the modern-day bureaucracy can be a persistent headache, as evidenced by the failed $15.8 billion nuclear power plant project. Ultimately, Sinop seems best suited for those seeking a quiet, remote getaway - but little else.
