Falmouth may have once been a bustling colonial port, but today it's a town stuck in the past. The town's 18th-century Georgian architecture is certainly picturesque, but with over 150 dwellings here as of 1793, the bureaucratic headaches of navigating an antiquated infrastructure are a persistent reality. And while the Glistening Waters may draw some tourists, the town's lack of commercial advancement since the 1840s means job opportunities are scarce. Unless you have a deep appreciation for historical architecture and don't mind dealing with Jamaica's notoriously heavy red tape, Falmouth is probably not the place for you.
