With a population of just 35,766, Zhutang is a sleepy backwater that offers little to recommend it for the average expat. The bureaucracy here is a persistent headache, as evidenced by the town's status as a mere township. While the climate may be tolerable, there's little to draw newcomers to this remote corner of China.

This is the kind of place that only the most dedicated rural enthusiasts, or perhaps retirees seeking a quiet life, might consider. For everyone else, Zhutang is best avoided.
