Yongbei, China

With a population of just 60,099, Yongbei is a sleepy backwater with little to offer the average expat. The local Zhuang dialect may be the basis for the Wuming standard, but the bureaucracy and provincial mentality of this northern region are a persistent headache. Aside from the niche appeal of the Zhuang culture, there's little to draw foreigners to this remote corner of China.
