With a population of just 16,538, this tiny Brazilian municipality is unlikely to offer the cosmopolitan comforts most expats crave. The area spans a vast 5,807 square kilometers, but the main draw appears to be the 3,858-hectare private nature reserve - hardly a selling point for those seeking an urban hub. And while the climate may be pleasant, the bureaucratic hurdles of setting up a life here are sure to be a persistent headache. Brasilandia is best suited for nature lovers content to live far off the beaten path, but most internationally-minded professionals would do better to look elsewhere.
