Ananindeua, Brazil

With a population of just 88,151, this city is a far cry from the bustling metropolis of Belém, which it technically falls under. Ananindeua is the second most populated city in the state of Pará, but it still struggles with the persistent bureaucracy that plagues much of Brazil's public services. On the plus side, the municipality contains a portion of the Utinga State Park, which was created in 1993 to protect the local water supply.

Overall, Ananindeua seems like a sleepy, provincial town that lacks the cultural and economic dynamism of its larger neighbor. Unless you're specifically drawn to the Amazon region or need to be near Belém for work, this city likely won't offer much to get excited about.
